It seemed like only yesterday En Fuego saw itself
facing the harsh truth that their season quickly ended after an early exit in the 2007 Adult B Playoffs.
Ok, so maybe it doesn't seem like yesterday.
But one thing is for sure: the seasons have come and gone and we are a month away from Roller Hockey season at Bill's Dek
Hockey.
Team En Fuego looks to avenge its playoff loss
this season as they continue to battle in the Adult B division for a second straight year. This year however, the heat
have a few different flames trying to light the lamp. Vinny Zachetti has been given the nod to take over forward position
as Justin Wise has been relocated to the New Jersey area. Also, a final defense position has been filled by En Fuego
alumni Dan Moore. Moore had been sidelinded for quiet some time because of a serious illness and is expected to play
a crucial part in shutting down the opponents' offense.
There was a final defensive spot simply because Bob Mlinek
has been named the starting goaltender for En Fuego for the 2008 campaign. Last year Bob was in net for 5 games, giving
up 29 goals with a 5.820 GAA. He expects, as does the team, that those stats will be grealty reduced now that he is
the official starter.
The final aspect of this team that will look different is
the uniform they will be wearing. No longer will they be clad in a red t-shirt but instead a slick light-weight black
jersey with the new logo designed by Dan Fiore. This season should provide exciting entertainment for all of its fans
and hopes to give En Fuego its first winning record as well as a possible league championship.
